Have the products been tested on Animals?

Our products are free from Animal Testing. We take this ethos further than many of the big brand companies claiming this distinction, read more here about the legal loopholes they use.

Are these products all Natural?

All Katharine Botanicals products have only natural active ingredients. They are free from all Parabens and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, packaged in recyclable containers and are fully biodegradable. What is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and why should I avoid it?

This chemical is widely used in cleaning and hygiene products and is probably best known for its ability to lather up. No link has been made between this chemical and cancer, but it is a known irritant to skin and should especially be avoided if you have sensitive skin.

Baby’s skin is so soft, wrinkle free (wouldn’t we all like that!) and new to the world, that we think that anything applied to it should be kind, natural and gentle.

What are Parabens and why should my Baby and I avoid them?

Parabens are a group of chemical compounds that are widely used as preservatives, especially in cosmetics.

Health concerns of parabens include their potential to mimic the hormone oestrogen which is known to contribute to the incidence of some cancers. Companies who use these as preservatives argue that they are probably safe in small amounts.

Our approach is 'probably', is not safe enough and why use these when there are natural ingredients that can do the job just as well?

There are too many incidents of products that were thought to be safe in the past that have actually caused many health issues. Think of asbestos and thalidomide....

Better to be safe than sorry.
